The Turkish Government has taken a controversial decision to turn Istanbul’s iconic Hagia Sophia back to a mosque. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s declaration on 10th July came after a Turkish high court stripped the sixth-century Byzantine site’s museum status, paving the way for it to be converted into a mosque.
The administration has ordered to arrest a person who was pressurising a Non-Muslim Asian man to accept Islam. A video of this incident was aired. The arrest was ordered in cognisance to the video.
