Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh) – Many Muslim organisations have become aggressive after passing of ‘Wakf Amendment Bill’ in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Aligarh’s Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind’s city-president Mufti Mohammad Akbar Qasmi warned the Government that the Bill would take away religious rights of Muslims; therefore, Muslims would take to streets to oppose the Bill. The agitations by Muslims would be like the agitations staged by them at the time of freedom fight, threatening Qasmi.
🚨 "Withdraw the Waqf Bill or we’ll hit the streets!" – Threat by Mufti Mohammad Akbar Qasmi of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind
📜 The Bill was passed by Parliament, yet no one dares call him anti-democratic?

He further added –
Our fight will go on. We will protest as per the rights conferred by the Constitution. We want withdrawal of this Bill in any case because Muslims have grievances against this Bill. People are getting ready to take to the streets. The situation may change if Muslims are troubled. Hindustan is a country of ‘Ganga- Jamuna’ culture. The Waqf Bill will tarnish this culture.
‘Dara Shikoh Foundation’ supports the Bill‘Dara Shikoh Foundation’s President Amir Rashid has come forward to openly support the Bill. He said that the Bill would benefit poor Muslims. Children from poor class among Muslims will get scholarships from Waqf funds. Widowed women will get pension. Schools, colleges will be opened. A few people have so far controlled the Waqf properties which will be curbed. The step taken by the Government is commendable. |
Editorial PerspectiveWhy is nobody calling Mufti Mohammad Akbar Qasmi an anti-national for opposing the Bill passed in Parliament ? Do the people not believing in laws passed in Parliament and threatening to quash those laws, have a right to stay in this country ? |
