In the past Bengali Hindu families used to live in Bangladesh. As their population reduced their temple destroyed and the idols of their Deities were buried. Now during excavation these idols are being found.
A comprehensive investigation must uncover how many such Hindu structures have been taken over or destroyed by Muslims. This will bring to light the losses suffered by Hindus.
On the morning of 25th August, devotees reached the temple for worship, when they found severed head of the idol of Shri Kali Mata. In no time the news of the incident spread far and wide and violence ensued.
This complex also has the Kamal Maula mosque built by the Muslim invaders.

The claim for the return of the 16th-century idol of Saint Tirumankai Alwar was made on behalf of the Indian High Commission in Britain.
The survey has uncovered numerous Hindu artefacts at the site.
Some Puranic stories are also depicted in the temples. They are influenced by the Gupta period.
Shri Vishnu Idol which has been found in the River Krishna is similar to Ayodhya’s Shriramlalla Idol.
In the team of ASI surveying Gyanavapi, 2 Muslim experts, Dr Izhar Alam Hashmi and Dr Aftab Hussain, were also included.
