A ruling party MLA tore a copy of the Waqf Amendment Act in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) – There was a ruckus in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly over the Waqf Amendment Act. A National Conference MLA tore a copy of the law in the House. Other parties had discussed bringing a resolution against the Waqf Act. The House adjourned due to this ruckus.

On the other hand, the Supreme Court agreed to hear the petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the Waqf Amendment Act in the Supreme Court. So far, there are six petitions in the Supreme Court. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board has announced to hold protests nationwide from 11thApril.

Editorial Perspective

It is shameful for the people that they elect individuals who do not even know that tearing a copy of the law does not make that law void !
