Abdul Karim arrested for sexually harassing a woman under the pretext of occult rituals

Mangaluru – Abdul Karim, also known as Kuloor Ustad, has been arrested by the Police for allegedly sexually harassing a woman and cheating her of ₹1 lakh under the pretext of treating her through occult practices, after telling her she was a victim of black magic.

1. The victim, who was suffering from depression, visited Abdul Karim’s house in Hejamadi on the advice of her sister’s husband. Upon seeing her, Abdul Karim told her, ‘Someone has done black magic on you, and to remove it, you must come here repeatedly’.

2. The victim, along with her sister, visited Abdul Karim multiple times. In her complaint to the Police, she mentioned that on some occasions, he recited verses from the Quran to her.

3. A few days later, the victim had to visit Abdul Karim’s house in Hejamadi alone due to her sister’s work commitments. On that occasion, he made her read the Quran and then sexually harassed her under the guise of treatment. He also took ₹55,000 from her.

4. Whenever she went to Hejamadi, Ustad would tell her that more money was needed for the treatment, thereby defrauding her. The victim has alleged that he has extracted a total of ₹1 lakh from her so far.
