Thousands of Muslims vandalised BJP leader’s house and set it on fire in Manipur

Incident after supporting Waqf Amendment Act

Imphal (Manipur) – In Manipur also agitation against Waqf Amendment Act is going on. Muslims had taken out a protest march in Lilong, Dist. Thaubal. 5,000 Muslims had joined this march, which caused traffic disruption on National Highway 102. There were clashes between the protestors and the Security forces at some places. Muslim agitators vandalised the house of Manipur minority wing chief, Askar Ali’s house and set it on fire. Askar had supported the Waqf Amendment Act. After this incident Askar Ali asked apology on social media for supporting the Act. Protests were held in East Imphal Muslim majority areas too.
