Nashik, Maharashtra – A shocking incident has come to light at a private school in Ghoti, in the Igatpuri region, where knives, a bicycle chain, iron bangles, condoms and tobacco products were found in the schoolbags of five to six students from class 9. This was discovered during a surprise inspection of schoolbags by the vice-principal.

Following the discovery, parents were summoned and the concerned students were counselled. Some students were also found sporting bizarre hairstyles, prompting the vice-principal to cut their hair. To enforce discipline among students, such inspections will continue daily henceforth, informed the vice-principal.

Editorial Perspectives

  • Such a future generation will not lead the nation towards progress, but towards destruction. Parents, teachers and the Government must make efforts to instill moral values in students.
  • Given the current alarming situation, should schools conduct routine checks of all students’ school bags? This needs to be decided promptly.
