Dr. Subramanian Swamy challenges Govt. take-over of Chardham and 51 temples, in the Supreme Court now

Understand that only Dr. Swamy has to fight a legal battle himself against the Government take-over. No other representatives of the people or leaders of other parties take action against the take-over.

New Delhi – Senior BJP leader and MP Dr. Subramanian Swamy has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the BJP Government in Uttarakhand for taking over the Chardham and 51 other temples through the ‘Chardham Devasthan Management Board’.

Uttarakhand High Court on 21st July had dismissed Dr. Swamy’s plea in this regard. He has now challenged it in the Supreme Court.

Dr. Swamy said that in a secular country like India, only Hindu temples are being taken over by the Government. However, mosques and religious places of other religions are not being taken over by the Government.

Apart from Dr. Swamy, two organisations – ‘People for Dharma’ and ‘Indic Collective Trust’ have also filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the Government take-over.

In a ‘secular’ India, only Hindu temples are being taken over by the Government, but mosques etc. are not touched !
