Advocate Ramdas Kesarkar’s experience of Sachchidananda Parabrahman’s foresightedness

Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Athavale

1. In 1994, foresighted Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Athavale remarked to seekers from Mumbai, “We have come across a lawyer in Thane; he will fight Sanatan’s legal battles in the future”

In 1994, after His first study class in Thane, Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Athavale (Gurudev) told the seeker attendees from Mumbai, “The purpose of this study class in Thane has been fulfilled”. Describing the white trousers and white kurta I was wearing that day, He said, “We have come across an Advocate in Thane. He will fight Sanatan’s legal battles in the future !” One of the seekers from Mumbai, Mr Shivaji Vatkar (now Pujya Shivaji Vatkar), recounted this incident to me a year later and eventually that this is exactly what happened. Although I had returned home after that first study class, Gurudev, through His foresightedness, had already spoken about me to Mr Vatkar and other seekers.

2. Getting the opportunity to file the first civil suit for defamation and the first criminal case in Court on behalf of Sanatan Bharatiya Sanskruti Sanstha; thereby, resuming legal practice and experiencing the Anand (Bliss) derived from the satseva

Adv. Ramdas Kesarkar

By Gurudev’s grace, I began my spiritual practice in 1994. I was performing satseva such as conducting satsangs, delivering discourses, conducting study classes associated with the spread of Spirituality. As I had stopped practicing law in 1999, my visits to the Court had ceased completely. The Amrut Mahotsav (75th Birth Anniversary celebration) of the great Saint Pujya Bhau Masurkar from Sawantwadi, Maharashtra was held in the Year 2000. While speaking on that occasion, the then Guardian Minister of Sindhudurg District, Hussain Dalwai, made defamatory statements against the Sanatan Bharatiya Sanskruti Sanstha founded by Gurudev. These statements received extensive coverage in leading Daily newspapers such as Loksatta, Sakal, and Tarun Bharat. In October 2000, I had the privilege of filing the first civil suit and the first criminal case in Court on behalf of the Sanatan Bharatiya Sanskruti Sanstha against the concerned parties. Thus began Sanatan Sanstha’s legal battle against anti-Hindu elements, a struggle that continues to this day. Consequently, I began appearing in Court as a lawyer to provide legal services for the Sanstha. The Anand (Bliss) I experienced while providing legal services to Sanstha free-of-charge as my spiritual practice, was far more than the satisfaction I derived from my earlier professional practice, when I used to charge substantial fees.’
