Shri Ram temple needs a devotee, not a government-appointed officer : Saints demand

Saints demand following donation theft at the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) – The Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya does not require a (government-appointed) Chief Executive Officer for its management. The temple needs a ‘Dasa’ (servant/devotee). That devotee’s way of life should be founded on selfless service, that is, the spirit of humble devotion, Jagadguru Satish Acharya Maharaj said at a programme organised here by a media organisation. The programme was held in the wake of the donation theft at the Shri Ram temple. Saints, including Mahant Dharmdas of the Nirvani Akhada, Mahant Raju Das of Hanumangarhi and Swami Karpatriji Maharaj, participated in the programme.

Jagadguru Satish Acharya Maharaj further said, “We need a learned and knowledgeable Sadhu from the Akhada tradition or the Ramanandi Sampradaya who possesses profound knowledge of Dharma. What is required here is Dharma, the protection of Dharma, and governance based on Dharma.”

Faith is important, not a Chief Executive Officer! – Mahant Dharmdas

Mahant Dharmdas said that the Shri Ram temple does not need a Chief Executive Officer because Shri Ram Himself resides there. Without faith, there can be no devotion or worship. Faith is what is important, not a Chief Executive Officer.

Had the Akhadas been entrusted with the management, the theft would not have occurred! – Mahant Raju Das

Mahant Raju Das said that Bhagwan Shriram does not belong to any particular political party or organisation. No one has any “copyright” over Him. Had the management of the Shri Ram temple been entrusted to the Akhadas, such a theft would not have occurred. In the tradition of the saints, serving God is not a profession. People render service here out of devotion.

No injustice will occur under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath! – Mahant Dharmdas

Mahant Dharmdas said, “Had Yogiji not taken responsibility, so many criminals could not have been apprehended. He is a good person. No injustice will occur under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath.”
