Five terrorists arrested in Gujarat ahead of Bhagwan Jagannath’s Rath Yatra

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) – With only two days remaining for Bhagwan Jagannath’s grand Rath Yatra in Gujarat, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested five persons from Siddhpur suspected of having links with a terrorist organisation. They are currently being subjected to intensive interrogation. A detailed investigation is underway to determine whether they are associated with the terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed or any other terrorist organisation.

In addition, two more persons have reportedly been taken into custody in Banaskantha. Rath Yatras will be held on 16 July in Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Vadodara, Patan, Rajkot and several other cities.

Editorial Perspective

  • It is shameful for governments of all political parties that Hindu religious processions in India continue to remain under the shadow of jihadi terrorism !
  • Bear in mind that despite the reality that jihadi-minded Muslims in India and Pakistan are behind this terrorism, India has not taken permanent action against them !
