Sahil Shaikh and his gang brutally assault a Hindutva activist in Hadapsar, Pune !

The activist was attacked for filming the gang assaulting another person.

Pune – Sahil Shaikh and eight to ten of his accomplices brutally assaulted Hindutva activist Mr Navnath Landge near 15 Number Chowk in Hadapsar for recording a video of an assault. The accused allegedly forced Mr Landge to delete the video from his mobile phone.

Activists from various Hindutva organisations and Hindutva advocates gathered in large numbers at the Hadapsar Police Station to protest the attack and demand stringent action against the accused. Police have arrested two accused in connection with the incident.

1. At around 11 pm on 13th July, complainant Mr Navnath Landge was returning home after buying vegetables when he saw Sahil Shaikh and eight to ten of his accomplices allegedly assaulting a man near 15 Number Chowk. Mr Landge then began recording the assault on his mobile phone.

2. Sahil Shaikh and his accomplices surrounded Mr Landge and brutally assaulted him with kicks and punches after noticing him recording the assault.

3. One of the religious fanatics snatched Mr Landge’s mobile phone and forced him to delete the video. The gang then abused him, saying, “He is the same driver” (the one who recorded it), and recorded a video of Mr Landge on his own mobile phone.

4. Police arrived at the scene and prevented further violence. Mr Landge, who was injured in the attack, was admitted to Sassoon General Hospital for treatment.
