SPECIAL EDITORIAL : Once again, the nation needs ‘Vande Mataram’ !

A special editorial on the occasion of 150 years of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ !

The divine mantra that gave strength to revolutionaries during India’s freedom struggle to fight against the British was none other than ‘Vande Mataram’. Supporters, opponents, and even the neutral all know this mantra. Literally, it means “I bow to the Mother” — yet there is a vast difference between merely uttering these words and proclaiming them aloud as ‘Vande Mataram’ !

The moment this chant is raised, patriotic citizens still feel a surge of pride and goosebumps, while the anti-national, fanatic, communist, and self-proclaimed progressive elements lose their ground and awaken their hostility — that is the true power of this mantra.

Just as the cry of “Har Har Mahadev” stirs a warrior spirit, chanting ‘Vande Mataram’ or singing this national song manifests Bharatmata Herself before the mind’s eye. The very same call, however, infuriates fanatics. Today, this very proclamation inspires patriots to establish a Hindu Nation — Ram Rajya — across the world.

In the backdrop of today’s global unrest, the words penned by Bankimchandra Chatterjee in ‘Vande Mataram’ continue to uplift hearts and strike fear into enemies. Those who oppose singing this national song are simply those whose roots are not connected to this sacred land of Bharat. The government administration must firmly deal with such fanatic tendencies — this is the expectation of every patriot. Otherwise, time itself will set such wicked elements right.

One thing is certain — if a Hindu Nation is to be established once again across the world, patriots will need to draw upon the same spiritual force of ‘Vande Mataram’ once more !
