New York (USA) – Late on the night of 11th July, the US carried out large-scale air strikes on Iran. According to information released by the US Central Command, approximately 140 Iranian military sites were targeted. According to the US, the operation was carried out in response to an attack on a Cyprus-flagged vessel in the Strait of Hormuz. That attack reportedly caused a fire on board the vessel, disabled its engine and left one crew member missing.
