Thousands of acres of land belonging to the Hindu Temple in the State have been encroached. Devout Hindus feel that the government should find and free that land from encroachment and return it to the Temples.

During the debate, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that non-Islamic matters would not be allowed in Waqf. Minorities are being frightened for their vote bank.
Some Waqf Board officials allegedly played a significant role in the scam by helping to usurp lands meant for the underprivileged.
Syed Naseruddin Chishti further stated, “The amendment does not mean that mosques or properties will be taken away. It would be wrong to say this.
How can it be a right for Muslims to arbitrarily claim Hindu houses, temples, and lands whenever they please ? On the contrary, this infringes upon the fundamental right to life and property of Hindus !
Yogi Adityanath also expressed his views on the ongoing row over Waqf Board and lands grabbed by it. He questioned whether the Waqf Board has done any welfare activity for people.
