The school management suspends the accused

Akola, Maharashtra – Hemant Vitthal Chandekar (age 43), an employee of a Marathi medium school in Akola, molested 10 female students. The Police have registered a case in this matter based on the complaint filed by the female coordinator of the ‘Child Helpline’ under the office of the District Women and Child Development Officer andhave arrested the accused. Some of the female teachers at the school had gone out of the village since March 5th for training purpose. Therefore, the responsibility of the school was with the accused male employee. Taking advantage of this situation, the accused molested 10 female students studying in class IV and VII. After the teachers returned to the school, some of the students revealed what had happened. In this case, the school management expelled the accused since March 8th. The accused has been sent to judicial custody.
