Warning by Muslim Personal Law Board
New Delhi –When Waqf (Amendment) Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 2nd April, the spokesperson of all India Muslim Personal Law Board Dr. Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas warned, “we will stage a nationwide agitation if this amendment bill is passed. We will not remain silent. We will use all the available legal and constitutional provisions. The agitation will continue till the amendment bill is revoked.”
Dr. Ilyas added that this bill is discriminatory and will inflame religious rivalry. It is sad that even the views of the opposition members were not taken into consideration.”
