Das further said that the caretaker Government in Bangladesh was turning a blind eye to the struggles and pleas of Hindus.
It noted that temples and places of worship in Bangladesh are being systematically desecrated. India has taken serious note of the attack on the Durga Puja mandap in Tantibazar, Dhaka, and the theft at the revered Jeshoreshwari Kali temple at Satkhira.
Concerned about the plight of Hindus in Bangladesh, the Paris Mahamaya Puja Parishad organised the protest on 11th October at 8 pm local time, as informed by Mr Dipan Mitra, president of the European Union Chapter of the World Hindu Federation, to Sanatan Prabhat.
The situation in Bangladesh is such that in the coming years, there might not be Durga Puja as Hindus themselves may become extinct.
A local pro-Hindus told ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ that the local administration had covered the entire pandal with curtains so that this incident would not be known.
How can India be happy when Hindus are being persecuted in Bangladesh ? Yunus should first announce whether Bangladesh will stop the persecution of Hindus to please India.
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told reporters,’ We want to protect the rights of minorities in Bangladesh, as we do around the world.’
Hindus are celebrating Durga Puja festival under the shadow of fear. According to the ‘Bangladesh Puja Celebration Committee’, last year there were 32,408 pandals for Durga Puja.
Bangladesh’s Army Chief, Waqar-uz-Zaman, has assured the Hindu community of providing security during Durga Puja festival.
