India not pleased with the political changes in Bangladesh : Muhammad Yunus

Chief Adviser to the Interim Government of Bangladesh opines

Dhaka – Bangladesh’s Interim Government Chief Adviser Mohammad Yunus has said that despite the recent change of power in the country, Dhaka-Delhi ties should remain very strong, and it is in the interest of both countries. After the then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned in August 2024, economist Muhammad Yunus became the chief adviser to the interim Government.

Sheikh Hasina fled the country on August 5 due to student agitation. When asked about the recent strain in India-Bangladesh bilateral relations, Yunus said that India is ‘disheartened’ by the recent events in Bangladesh and is not pleased with the changes in Bangladesh. Yunus said that despite these changes, India should build good relations with Bangladesh; because it is necessary for India’s own interest. (Tiny Bangladesh dares to tell India about its interests. India must respond aggressively saying India is competent to take care of its own interests; Bangladesh does not need to tell that – Editor).

Editorial Perspective

How can India be happy when Hindus are being persecuted in Bangladesh ? Yunus should first announce whether Bangladesh will stop the persecution of Hindus to please India.
