China threatens India indirectly

Beijing (China) – China has assured Maldives that if any country tries to interfere in the internal affairs of Maldives, China will oppose it with full force. China has indirectly threatened India over this. Currently, the President of Maldives, Mohammed Muizzu, is on a visit to China. China gave the above assurance after Muizzu’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. 20 agreements have been signed between the two countries. Maldives has requested to send more Chinese tourists to Maldives. Currently, there is a tension between India and Maldives over tourism. Indians have called to boycott the Maldives after Maldivian ministers criticised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chinese Government mouthpiece ‘Global Times’ while referring to the joint statement of China and Maldives, said that China will take full efforts to maintain the sovereignty and national identity of Maldives. It will also oppose foreign interference in the internal affairs of the Maldives. China will firmly adhere to its policies towards the Maldives.
