Lucknow (UP) – On the birth anniversaries of Great personalities and Mahashivaratri, the slaughterhouses and the meat shops will remain closed in the State.

The State Government issued an order for the closure of the meat shops on these days. According to the order, the slaughterhouses and the meat shops should remain closed on the Mahavir Jayanti, Buddha Jayanti, Mahashivaratri, and Saint from Sindhi community TL Vaswani Jayanti. The birth anniversaries of Great personalities, who preached ahimsa (non-violence), would be celebrated as Ahimsa Day (Non-Violence day).
