Allahabad (UP) – The anti-conversion act in UP does not refuse inter-religious marriages; however, such people can be tortured. In such circumstances, the Marriage Registration Officer or the District Administration has no right to determine the plausibility of the marriage. Hence, Allahabad High Court has ordered to register the marriages of such couples. The Bench gave the verdict on 17 such petitions. The petitioners said that they went through the religious conversion as per their wish. They also claimed that their life is threatened by their parents and relatives and the Government administration has ignored their complaints.
