Mohammad Rafiq Naik, who aided Pakistani terrorists, arrested in Kashmir !

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) – The police arrested Mohammad Rafiq Naik, who provided shelter and assistance to Pakistani terrorists, from Chhatru (Chhatra) in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. The accused, Mohammad, was working as a maulavi (Islamic religious leader) at a mosque in the Kalasoi area. He was running the operations of the ‘Saifullah Group’, led by Saifullah, a commander of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

1. Kishtwar Senior Superintendent of Police Naresh Singh said that the accused, Mohammad Rafiq Naik, had provided assistance to Pakistani terrorist commander Saifullah and his associates by arranging safe shelter, food, essential supplies and coordination among them.

2. It was with the assistance of this maulavi that the terrorists were able to remain hidden in the forests of Chhatru for nearly two years. Later, the security forces launched a major operation and killed Saifullah and seven terrorists from his group in an encounter.

3. Before Rafiq Naik was arrested, the police had also arrested Munir Ahmad and Mashkoor Ahmad in the same case. They were accused of providing logistical and communication support to the terrorist group.

Editorial Perspective

This is not a new phenomenon in Kashmir; however, in the last 78 years, no government has declared even a single person who has committed such an act a traitor and sentenced them to death. It is precisely because of this that people dare to commit such acts. This is shameful on the part of the government !
