Mumbai – A video circulated from a fruit shop in Borivali allegedly shows a rat gnawing at bananas. It has been alleged on social media that the same rat-gnawed fruit is being sold to customers.

1. If people consume fruit contaminated with rat droppings or gnawed by rats, they may contract life-threatening diseases such as plague and leptospirosis.

2. The administration is investigating where in Borivali the video was filmed and who the fruit seller concerned is.

3. Administrative officials said that the authenticity of the video is being verified and that the fruit seller, if found guilty, will be traced and strict legal action will be taken against him.
