Police took immediate action after Police Commissioner Narsimha Komar took a strict stance. “So that no one dares to do such a thing during the Ganesh festival, these anti-social elements were walked around the city,” the Police said.
Upon thorough interrogation, it was revealed that he was an Afghan national. He was then arrested, and an investigation is underway to determine how he obtained the fake passport.
Their names are Majida Begum Mohammad Jahangir Alam (age 38) and Russell Mohammad Farooq Hussain (age 29). They had entered India illegally and were residing here without authorization.
