Raids on Terrorist organisation centres of Jamat-e-Islami in Jammu & Kashmir

Srinagar (Jammu-Kashmir) – Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday conducted multiple raids across all the major districts of Kashmir on residences and businesses related to Jamat-e-Islami (JeI) or its linked organisations. A police spokesperson said that the searches were conducted in Srinagar and Budgam in central Kashmir, Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian and Anantnag in south Kashmir and Kupwara in north Kashmir. During the raids the Police arrested an 18-year-old youth involved in terrorist activities. The police also seized numerous documents, mobiles and laptops from these places.

Police have reported that the arrested terrorist was in touch with numerous foreign mobile numbers including Pakistani numbers. He had been indoctrinated and was planning a terrorist attack.
