Khalistanis bring swords and spears at the Indo-Canada business event in Canada

Canadian Police chase away Khalistanis from the venue

Ottawa (Canada) – Pro-Khalistan protesters carried swords and spears at an event attended by India’s High Commissioner to Canada, Sanjay Kumar Verma. The Canadian Police chased them away before they could carry out any harmful activity. The incident took place when Verma was in Edmonton on 11 th March to attend an event
organised by the Indo-Canadian Chamber of Commerce (ICCC). Pro-Khalistan protestors also raised insulting slogans against Verma. A video of this incident has surfaced, wherein the Canadian Police personnel are seen pushing back the advancing armed Khalistan supporters. Indian High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma told ‘The Hindu’ newspaper that Pro-Khalistan elements tried to disrupt the event; but they were not successful.

1. Khalistanis raised slogans against the Indian High Commissioner and India during the incident that took place on 11 th March. A Khalistani also insulted the Indian national flag. Khalistanis tried to disrupt the programme.

2. Supporters of Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun had released posters calling for protests against the ICCC event organised on 11 th March. Following this, the Canadian authorities deployed a large number of security forces at the venue. They escorted the Indian High Commissioner and his wife safely out of the event during the
attempted invasion.

3. Officials working at the Indian High Commission in Canada are being targetted by the Khalistanis since last few months. After the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Sihag Pannun had appealed to target the Indian embassy. Since then, attempts have been made to target Indian officials.
