Appeal for the unconditional release of the hostages
Washington (US) – On the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity on 29th November, India reaffirmed its long-term relationship with the Palestinian people in the United Nations General Assembly meeting. India’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj said, “We support Palestinian people’s peace and prosperity. The situation in the Middle East is tense as the Israel-Hamas war is causing massive loss of civilian life. Other people including women and children are in danger. This is unacceptable. India condemns acts of terrorism and hostage-taking of civilians. Our thoughts are with the hostages and their families. We welcome all those decisions, which can reduce tension in the region. India welcomes the release of Israeli hostages and calls for immediate, unconditional release of those still held in captivity by the militants.
Kamboj further said that both sides respected the ceasefire during the war. When the war started, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar made all efforts to establish peace. PM Modi and Jaishankar made many efforts for diplomacy and dialogue. Our leaders have always expressed concern over the humanitarian crisis.
