Washington (USA) – Nearly 97,000 Indians who entered the US illegally have been arrested. This data is from October 2022 to September 2023, as claimed by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Data. According to these statistics, out of 96,917 Indians who were arrested, 30,010 Indians entered the US through the US-Canada border, while 41,770 Indians entered from the US-Mexico border. CBP has claimed that these illegal immigrants were arrested at the entry points.
1. Senator James Lankford claimed in the US Parliament that these Indians are afraid to stay in India. Hence, they are leaving India and coming to the US.
2. According to the American media Wall Street Journal, due to political and religious persecution in India, Indian citizens have started coming to the US in large numbers. Along with this, the lack of economic opportunities in India is also a major reason behind their coming to the US. If we compare the 10 years from 2012 to 2022, this ratio has increased by 100 times.
3. According to the think tank New American Economy, there are a total of 1 crore illegal immigrants living in America, of which 6 lakhs are Indians.
More than 20,000 Indians have been locked up illegally in prisons in the US and forced labour is being done from them. Prisons make good money through this, but the detainees are not paid properly. If the detainees refuse to work, they are kept in dark cells.
