Posters threatening the embassy officials put up by Khalistanis outside the Bharatmata Temple in Canada !
New Delhi – The ‘Kill India’ protest marches organised by supporters of Khalistan in Canada, Britain, Australia, and other countries on 8th July proved to be a flop show. These marches were to protest outside the Indian Embassy; however, as only a few Sikhs participated, these marches did not gain any significance. The Police were also deployed heavily outside the Embassies. Khalistani supporters put up posters in support of Khalistan outside the Bharatmata Temple in Canada. Khalistanis organised these protest marches after the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
It is said that the pressure put by India, as well as the threat given by the Khalistanis to attack the Indian Embassy and its officials, is the reason behind the flop show of these Khalistani marches. Apparently, all the countries took the matter seriously after India made it clear that if Khalistanis are assisted, the relations of the respective countries with India may deteriorate.

Britain’s lack of seriousness towards threats !
On protests by Khalistanis outside Indian embassies, India’s External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that India had submitted to Britain the issue of the threats it had received against embassy officials in London, but the authorities there are looking at this in terms of a general incident. There is a need to look at the seriousness of these threats and the motives behind them. (Please note that even though British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is of Indian origin, threats to Indian Embassy officials are being taken casually ! – Editor)
