Health system collapses under the Taliban rule
Kabul (Afghanistan) – As per BBC News, 167 children are dying every day in Afghanistan. This may be the official number, but the actual number of deaths might be quite high. Many big hospitals have been closed down in the last 20 months.
1. Many rooms in the best hospital in Ghor Province in Afghanistan are filled with sick children. At least two children are sharing one bed and only two nurses for 60 children in the ward. As per UNICEF’s claim, these children are suffering from serious ailments.
2. The health facilities have always been poor in Afghanistan. Before the Taliban took over, the medical facilities were generated through foreign aid, which has stopped since 2021.
3. In the earlier 21 years, billions of rupees were spent on public health facilities in Afghanistan. Since the change in power in 2021, however, Taliban governance has not been recognised at the international level. It has become difficult to provide funds to the country. A few voluntary organisations are continuously trying to pay salaries to hospital staff and provide basic amenities. As per these organisations, considering the increasing restrictions imposed on women in Afghanistan, the funds received presently, are likely to be stopped.

By now, the world knows the effects on a country when ruled by jihadi terrorists as in Afghanistan and ruled by people of jihadi mentality as in Pakistan; therefore, such mentality is a nuisance for the whole world and there needs to be united efforts across the globe to eliminate such mentality. |
