The Guru’s role

Guru is one who imparts Knowledge of what one is not able to understand !

Implied meaning : ‘Not able to understand’ means not understanding ‘who am I’, which is Ignorance, Maya. ‘Imparts Knowledge about this’ means the Guru’s real task is to make one realise the true nature of Maya and impart awareness of Brahman’s (God’s) presence even in Maya.
