Clarifications after Sonam Wangchuk withdraws his hunger strike

New Delhi – Social activist Sonam Wangchuk withdrew his 26-day hunger strike following an assurance from the Government. After this, Abhijit Dipake, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party, clarified on ‘X’ that the party’s peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar would continue until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. Dipake said, “We are extremely happy that Sonam Wangchuk has withdrawn his hunger strike after 26 days. Sir, thank you very much for your courage and sacrifice. By putting your own life at risk, you have awakened the consciousness of the entire country. Your life is extremely precious to this country.”
We might be arrested tonight ? – Dipake expresses apprehension
Dipake said that the police might arrest everyone in the Cockroach Janata Party group tonight. “I want to ask the Government: Why do you want to arrest us ? We have been carrying out a peaceful protest for the past 35 days. I do not think such a peaceful protest has ever taken place in independent India. We are people who follow the path of the Constitution. What problem do you have with the Constitution of India ? You abducted Sonam sir from here and made this protest even bigger. After that, when you beat the girls on July 20, tore their clothes and the police assaulted them, this protest spread throughout the country. Now, the Government should not commit a third mistake by arresting us; otherwise, this protest will become even bigger,” he warned.
Continue the peaceful protest even if we are arrested !
Dipake further said, “I appeal to everyone that if our group is arrested tonight, it will be your responsibility to continue this protest peacefully hereafter. I believe that all of you are law-abiding patriots. You will not do anything that will cause harm to our country. Therefore, if we are arrested today, you must take this protest forward in every part of the country. Those who resort to violence or do anything wrong cannot be supporters of the Cockroach Janata Party. We are people who believe in the path of peace.”
