Indian CDS’ remarks may increase tension on the border : China throws tantrums

China lodges protest with India over CDS Gen. Rawat’s remark – ‘China is the biggest security threat to India’

CDS Gen. Rawat has expressed the fact; since the truth is hard to digest, China is throwing tantrums. Instead, China should stop its illegal activities along the Indian border and return Aksi Chin to India.  

Beijing (China) – China has protested over Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen. Bipin Rawat’s remarks about Beijing constituting the biggest security threat. Chinese Defence Ministry Spokesman Sr. Col Wu Qian said Indian officials speculate on the so-called Chinese military threat for no reason. Such remarks are irresponsible. Such remarks may increase the tensions on the border. Gen Rawat had said, “There is a lack of trust between India and China in resolving the border dispute and suspicion is growing.”

Col Wu Qian said, “We express our firm opposition to this. We are firmly opposed to this and have made solemn representations to the Indian side. China’s position on the Sino-Indian border issue is clear and unambiguous. The Chinese border guard forces are determined to safeguard national sovereignty and security, and are committed to maintaining peace and tranquillity in the border area, making great efforts to promote the de-escalation of the situation.”
