New Delhi – The central government has informed the Lok Sabha that ’no foreign government has supported the farmer’s agitation against the farm laws.

- Minister of state for external affairs V Muraleedharan said, “Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had made a comment on issues related to the farmers, but then it was conveyed to Canada that such remarks pertaining to the internal affairs of India are ‘unwanted’ and ‘unacceptable’. After receiving proper information from India the government of Canada has welcomed the government of India’s commitment to ongoing dialogue with the farmers to discuss concerned issues. Protests by a few motivated PIOs on issues related to the Indian farm bill have been reported in Canada, UK, USA and a few European countries.
- Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had, in early December 2020, said that ’Canada will always be there to defend the right of peaceful protest and was concerned about the situation in India’.
