No consensus yet on the name of the General Secretary

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) – A religious committee comprising 9 saints was constituted at the meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust held on July 22. The committee comprises 5 saints from Ayodhya and 4 saints from the Trust. Param Pujya Swami Govinddev Giri, Treasurer of the Trust, has been appointed as the Chairman of the committee. The Trust has also decided to appoint an official spokesperson to maintain regular communication with society and the media. The names of the General Secretary and 3 Trustees were to be finalised at the meeting; however, this could not be done. The name of Bajrang Lal Bagda, International General Secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, was proposed at the meeting; however, consensus could not be reached on it. The saints of Ayodhya want a local person to be appointed as the General Secretary. Therefore, the matter was deferred. The next meeting will be held on September 2. The names of the new General Secretary and Chief Executive Officer will be announced at that meeting.

The Trust meeting was held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Shri Swami Mani Ramdas Chhawani in Ayodhya. Trust Chairman Mahant Nritya Gopal Das Maharaj himself presided over the meeting.
No decline in the number of devotees !
The Trust said that despite various allegations and misinformation, there has not been the slightest decline in the number of devotees visiting the Shri Ram Temple. This is proof of the unwavering faith of crores of Ram devotees. The Trust expressed its gratitude to the saint community, devotees and residents of Ayodhya for this.
Special Investigation Team’s report not yet received
The Trust said that the final report of the Special Investigation Team probing the alleged irregularities in the counting of donations has not yet been received. Therefore, the matter could not be discussed in detail. However, the ongoing hearing in the Supreme Court and the Court’s order were taken note of.
