O’ Devotees ! Do not dwell on memories of incidents with Saints; strive to imbibe their teachings !

Once, I met some devotees of a Saint. From our interaction, it became evident that they have served that Saint for many years. Therefore, they remember many incidents associated with that Saint in great detail; however, the intensity of personality defects and ego in those devotees was even more. Those devotees served the Saint, but they did not imbibe His teachings. In short, one does not derive benefit from a Saint merely by being in His company, but by imbibing His teachings.
