It is shameful for all Hindus in Karnataka that Siddaramaiah, who gets elected on the votes of crores of Hindus in Karnataka, dares to make such a statement. Do Hindus accept it ?
Hindus should unite against such tendencies and compel Siddaramaiah to apologise to Hindus.
This is an anti-Dharma statement of Congress-ruled Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, who also says shamelessly that he has no objection to ministers consuming alcohol !
Bengaluru (Karnataka) – While speaking at a programme held in Bengaluru, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, ‘Nowadays most people consume alcohol. Even ministers in my cabinet do so. Personally, I have no objection to drinking’.
The Chief Minister added, ‘Alcohol consumption should remain merely a hobby; however, it should not become an addiction that takes away an individual’s self-control. (One does not realise when drinking commences as a hobby, goes out of control and turns into addiction. Therefore, it is inappropriate for rulers to give such self-destructive advice ! – Editor) There are references even in the Puranas to Deities consuming alcohol’.

Recalling old memories on the occasion, he referred to a debate once held in Parliament on milk being supplied from villages to cities, while whisky and brandy being supplied from cities to villages. He expressed displeasure over the growing influence of alcohol in rural areas. (On one hand, Siddaramaiah expresses concern over the growing influence of alcohol, while on the other, he claims to have no objection to drinking – a clear indication of double standards. – Editor)
