Death penalty in the US to be carried out by shooting or poisoning

President of the United States Donald Trump

Washington DC (USA) – The United States has introduced major changes to its method of carrying out the death penalty. Earlier, lethal injections were most commonly used; however, the use of a drug called Pentobarbital is now being reinstated. This drug suppresses the nervous system, causing the person to lose consciousness first and then stop breathing. Another method being introduced involves execution by firing squad, where a team of trained personnel simultaneously shoots the convict, resulting in immediate death. The administration of Donald Trump believes that it is essential to impose strict punishment on criminals such as terrorists, child killers, and those who murder Police officials.
