‘If the number of suicide attackers is revealed, it will cause a stir’ : Terrorist Masood Azhar

Audio message by Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar

Masood Azhar’s claim

Islamabad (Pakistan) – An audio message by Maulana Masood Azhar, chief of the Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed, has been circulated on social media. However, it has not been confirmed exactly when this message was recorded or released. In the message, Masood Azhar claims that his organisation has suicide attackers in the thousands. According to him, these terrorists are ready to strike at any time. He says they are not one or two, nor a hundred, nor even a thousand, and that if the full number is disclosed, it would create a sensation across global media.

He further states that his men make no material demands. They do not seek vehicles, money, children’s education, loan repayments, television, or visas for Europe or the USA. According to him, they desire only martyrdom.

Message driven by fear, say defence experts

According to defence experts, this audio message reflects Masood Azhar’s fear. Under Operation Sindoor, several Jaish-e-Mohammed locations were destroyed. Reports had also emerged that around ten members of Masood Azhar’s family were killed during this operation. A powerful explosion occurred at his location in Bahawalpur, and he narrowly escaped. It is said that he subsequently disappeared from public life and is now operating from a secret location, releasing such audio messages.

Experts believe that the objective behind these messages is to spread fear, boost the morale of supporters, and conceal his weakened position. Indian security agencies are continuously monitoring such statements and remain alert to counter any potential threat.

Editorial Perspective

This statement itself indicates that Masood no longer has terrorists left with him.
