The sacrifice of the soldiers and generals for the Hindavi Swarajya as envisaged by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is supreme. Similarly, in the present times, many devout Hindus and patriotic citizens of this country have been striving to protect the Nation & Dharma.
The ‘Warriors of Hindutva’ is a series of articles that sheds light on their life and their struggle to protect Hindu Dharma. We hope that it serves as a catalyst for the mission of establishing the ‘Hindu Rashtra’ and inspires many others. – Editor
1. François Gautier’s spiritual journey

At the age of 19, François Gautier learned that a group of devotees was traveling from Paris to Pondicherry to spread the teachings of Maharshi Aurobindo. Driven by a deep spiritual curiosity, he joined this journey and came to India. Upon arriving, he felt as though he had truly come home.
He spent seven years at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry, immersing himself in Indian culture, Spirituality, and spiritual practice. After the passing of his Guru Ma, he resumed his work in writing and journalism-fields in which he already had experience from his time in Paris.
2. Inspiration behind his work for Hindutva
François Gautier began his journalism career in India by creating a short documentary on Kalaripayattu, an ancient Indian martial art form rooted in Kerala. Kalaripayattu originated in the 3rd century, and the sixth Incarnation of Vishnu – Lord Parashuram – is considered its founder. Lord Parashuram established 42 kalaris (Training schools) and trained 21 masters to protect the land of Kerala. Over time, foreign cultures adopted and adapted this martial art, which later came to be known worldwide under names of Kung Fu, Shaolin Boxing, and Karate in countries like China and Japan.
During this project, François met Kalaripayattu masters and their disciples, who generously shared their knowledge without hesitation. This interaction deeply moved him and awakened his respect for Hinduism. It also made him realize that Hindus had long possessed the strength and knowledge for self-defense through such traditions.
3. Influence of the Dalai Lama and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
While studying Hinduism and Spirituality, François Gautier met many spiritual leaders and their disciples, often seeking answers to his questions and clarifying doubts. These interactions became a source of inspiration on his spiritual journey.
Through the philosophy of Sri Aurobindo, he developed a new perspective on journalism. His meeting with the Dalai Lama inspired him with the value of freedom, while Sri Sri Ravi Shankar introduced him to various techniques of Pranayam (Breath control practices).
4. About the ‘FACT’ Exhibition and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum
François Gautier says – “I am a witness to the genocide of 450,000 Kashmiri Hindus, and it was from this experience that, in 2004 I launched the FACT (Foundation Against Continuing Terrorism) exhibition in Delhi, dedicated to the plight of the Kashmiri Pandits”.
Following this, he began a serious study of Indian history and came to realize that Aurangzeb was a significant figure in that history. Based on Aurangzeb’s original firmans (Royal decrees), he launched another exhibition, aiming to present the true history to the people.
Mr François Gautier was born in Paris and raised in a strict Catholic family. He currently works in the field of journalism in Pune. He has served as a South Asia correspondent for several renowned French-language newspapers. Driven by a curiosity that something is incomplete in life, he was drawn to Hindutva and began spiritual practice and work aligned with Hindu philosophy. He is the founder of the FACT exhibition that highlights the tragic plight of Kashmiri Hindus, as well as the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum in Pune.
| A Message to Hindu Youth
Hindu youth should study India’s glorious and ancient history and take pride in it. Instead of falling under the influence of Western culture, stay in India and serve the Nation. Even if other countries offer more comforts and conveniences, do not abandon your country – and be ready to fight for it when needed. Hinduism is the last hope for all, as it alone offers spiritual principles and knowledge that answer profound questions such as : Who am I, What is the purpose of my birth, What happens after death, Who are the Avatars (Incarnations), What is karma and Dharma. Only Hinduism provides answers to these deep philosophical inquiries. |

François Gautier’s Appeal Sri Sri Ravi Shankar provided space for the FACT exhibition and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum. This museum is open to the people free-ofcharge. However, François faces financial challenges in maintaining it. So far, over 15,000 people – many of them students – have visited the museum. Entry remains free so that the message and knowledge can reach as many people as possible.
