Five fighter jets destroyed in India-Pakistan conflict, claims US President Donald Trump

Statement by US President Donald Trump

Washington (USA) – “We have stopped many wars — and they weren’t small ones. The situation between India and Pakistan had become extremely critical. Fighter jets were being shot down. I think around five fighter jets were downed. Both these countries are nuclear-armed and were attacking each other,” stated US President Donald Trump. He made this remark during a dinner with Republican lawmakers at the White House.

However, Trump did not clarify which country the destroyed aircraft belonged to.

He further said, “We stopped the war between the two through trade. I told them, ‘Unless you resolve this issue, I will not talk to you about trade’, and only after that did they agree to a ceasefire.”
