US bombs 3 nuclear sites in Iran

America enters the Iran-Israel war

Tehran (Iran) – The United States has officially entered the ongoing war between Israel and Iran. US B-2 bombers attacked and destroyed Iran’s nuclear energy sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. These facilities were located 300 feet underground. Since Israel lacks the aircraft and bombs capable of such deep-target destruction, it requested US assistance. The B-2 bombers then flew a 37-hour mission to Iran to carry out the strikes. US President Donald Trump himself disclosed this information. Trump told Fox News that 6 bunker-buster bombs were dropped on Fordow, and 30 Tomahawk missiles were launched at other nuclear facilities.

The US has long opposed Iran’s nuclear weapons programme and has warned Iran multiple times. Despite this, Iran continued its nuclear ambitions. Following this attack, Iran has reportedly suffered heavy damage.

Now is the time for peace: Trump

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Trump said, ‘We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside Iranian airspace. There is no other military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! (sic)’.

Future attacks will be more devastating

In his address to the nation, Trump said, ‘Iran’s major nuclear facilities have been destroyed. If Iran still refuses peace, future strikes will be even more devastating. We will target the remaining sites, many of which can be destroyed within minutes, he warned. Iran can choose peace or destruction. For the past 40 years, Iran has worked against the US, and many Americans have been victims of Iranian hostility. We will not tolerate this anymore. A country that promotes terrorism and develops nuclear weapons poses a threat to everyone.

Peace is established through strength: Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the US action, calling it a bold and historic move.

He said, ‘Trump and I have always said that peace is established through strength. Show strength first, then peace follows. Netanyahu and Trump also spoke over the phone following the strikes, during which Netanyahu expressed gratitude for the US action.

US citizens should prepare for unprecedented losses; Khamenei’s threat

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, responded with a stark warning: ‘The American people should prepare for destruction and shocks they’ve never experienced before’.

Iran retaliates; fires 30 missiles at 10 Israeli cities

In retaliation, Iran launched 30 missiles at 10 Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem.

Iran to attack US bases next

Following Khamenei’s warning, Hossein Shariatmadari, editor of the pro-regime newspaper Kayhan and considered close to Khamenei, revealed potential Iranian targets. He said, ‘It’s time to act without delay. The first step should be missile strikes on the US Navy fleet in Bahrain and simultaneous closure of the Strait of Hormuz to American, British, German, and French ships.”

The Strait of Hormuz connects the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. It lies between Iran and Oman and is the world’s most crucial oil route, handling 20% of global oil supply. US, British, German, and French warships and commercial vessels are stationed there. A closure of this waterway could cause global oil prices to spike and trigger a major international crisis.

Iran claims, ‘No uranium was present at the bombed sites’

Following the attack, Iran claimed that there was no nuclear leakage from the targeted facilities, as the uranium had already been removed. Iranian lawmaker Mohammad Manan Raisi told local media that the Fordow site did not suffer major damage, only superficial damage, which could be repaired.

Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency said that no radiation leaks were detected and the nuclear weapons development programme will not stop.

Attack used Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) bombs

The bombs used by the US were MOPs (Massive Ordnance Penetrators), each weighing 30,000 pounds, designed to destroy underground targets. These bombs can penetrate hundreds of feet into the earth before detonating, causing total destruction of underground bunkers. Made of steel alloy, the MOP is GPS-guided and can only be deployed by B-2 bombers, which are stealth aircraft capable of evading radar and refuelling in mid-air.

US attack threatens global peace: Antonio Guterres, United Nations

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed grave concern. He said, ‘I am gravely alarmed by the use of force by the United States against Iran today. This is a dangerous escalation in a region already on the edge – and a direct threat to international peace and security. This conflict could spiral out of control, with devastating consequences not just for civilians but for the entire world.

He urged all member nations to work towards de-escalation and uphold their responsibilities under the UN Charter and international law.
