Jamui (Bihar) – A Hindu woman in Bihar’s Jamui district has accused her in-laws of forcibly converting her to Christianity. On 25th May 2025, the woman’s brothers Kanhaiya Das and Panchu Das, beat her with sticks and threatened to kill her. They forcibly took her to a witch doctor and cut her hair. The victim, identified as Sonali Devi, went to the Superintendent of Police’s office along with her husband, Sahadev Das and filed a complaint against her in-laws. (This shows that converted Christians are more fanatical. – Editor)
Victim Sonali Devi said that her husband, Sahadev Das, works in Kolkata. Sonali lives in a house built on her land. Her father-in-law Tarani Das, mother-in-law Suruti Devi and elder brother Kanhaiya Das had converted to Christianity two years ago. Now they were pressuring Sonali to convert too. When Sonali Devi refused to convert to Christianity, her in-laws beat her up and prevented her from worshipping Hindu deities. A compromise was reached at the panchayat level in this case, but her in-laws disagreed. The Police are investigating the matter further.
Editorial PerspectiveDespite the Hindu majority in the country, such incidents happen regularly; it is shameful for Hindus. Hindu Rashtra is the only option to change this situation. |
