Rameswaram (Tamil Nadu) – The Sri Lankan Navy has arrested 11 Indian fishermen fishing in the sea. According to the Rameswaram Fishermen’s Association, such incidents happen every day. The Government will have to think seriously about this. The incident occurred at such time that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sri Lanka was scheduled for next month. Earlier, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin met External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar several times with a request to solve this problem.
The Sri Lankan Navy had arrested more than 550 Indian fishermen last year, while more than 150 fishermen have been arrested this year.
