Administration cites Sambhajinagar bench’s decision as the reason

Satara, Maharashtra – The Mandhardevi Yatra in Wai taluka here will be held from January 12th to January 20th. The administration has banned animal sacrifice and playing musical instruments during this period. The District Magistrate has implemented Section 36 of the ‘Mumbai Police Act, 1951’. Following the order given by the Sambhajinagar Bench of the Bombay High Court, animal sacrifice will not be allowed during the Yatra. (Cow slaughter is done during Eid. Hindus expect the Court to take note of this and ban it – Editor). Playing musical instruments has been banned on the grounds that it can create security lapses. Instructions have been given to the Police officers to maintain law and order during the Yatra.
Editorial PerspectiveThe Supreme Court has ordered the removal of loudspeakers from religious places. Still, the Police and the administration do not remove them from mosques that cause noise pollution. This shows that the Court orders are followed as per convenience. |
