Despite Russia’s warning, Ukraine fires missiles obtained from Britain into Russia

  • Russia likely to respond

  • Fear in European countries

Kyiv (Ukraine) – The US State Department has expressed grave concerns over Russia’s hybrid warfare against the West, fearing it could escalate after Ukraine used UK and US-made ATACMS missiles against targets inside Russia. Potential hybrid attacks could include sabotage, assassinations in Europe. The US State Department has voiced “incredibly” strong concerns about Russia’s ongoing campaign of hybrid warfare against the West, a news report said. This comes amid fears that the situation could escalate after Ukraine reportedly launched UK and US-made long-range ATACMS missiles at targets within Russia, following the Biden administration’s decision to lift restrictions on their use. The first Ukrainian attack with ATACMS struck an ammunition warehouse in Bryansk region. The region lies north-west of the Kursk region where a Ukrainian incursion has been under way since early August.

Recently, the United States allowed Ukraine to use its long-range missiles. After this recognition by the United States, the Ukrainian army has been successful in targeting Russian interior areas and military bases, which could change the entire situation of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Ukraine, which has seemed weak so far, may get a big lead. That is why Russian President Vladimir Putin had warned about this. ‘If we are attacked on a large scale, it will have serious consequences,’ he had said. Along with this, Russia changed its nuclear policy and made a rule that Russia can use nuclear weapons in the event of a major air attack on Russia. This has created an atmosphere of fear in Europe. Many countries have ordered their armies to remain ready and have also advised their citizens to stock up on food grains.
