Resolution passed by Shinganapur (Dist. Kolhapur) Gram Panchayat to stop Bangladeshi infiltrators : Rasika Patil, Sarpanch, Shinganapur

Some people misled the social media about this resolution

Kolhapur – “In our neighbouring village, it was found that two Bangladeshi women were living with fake Aadhaar cards with local address. A discussion was held in the Gram Sabha of Shinganapur to curb such incidents. Accordingly, a resolution was passed by the Shinganapur (Dist. Kolhapur) Gram Panchayat to stop the Bangladeshi infiltrators. In this resolution, it was stated that ‘if Bangladeshi infiltrators are found, they should not be given the right to vote’. Meanwhile, some people misled the social media about this resolution. As Sarpanch, I apologise for the misleading resolution circulated on social media. We do not intend to belittle any community,” said Rasika Patil, Sarpanch of Shinganapur Gram Panchayat. (Today, the threat of Bangladeshi infiltrators has reached up to the village level. So, if a Gram Panchayat makes such a resolution, it is the right thing to do considering the safety of the villagers. In this regard, the intention behind the resolution of the concerned Gram Panchayat must be taken into account. – Editor).

3. Block Development Officer (BDO) and Karveer Tehsildar have ordered to investigate the matter after the circulation of this letter on social media.

4. In this regard, ‘Muhammadan Education Society’ has given a statement to the Collector, stating, “The resolution passed by the Sarpanch, Gram Sevak and members of the Gram Panchayat Shinganapur regarding non-registration of Muslims in the voter list is unconstitutional and creates religious discord. Therefore, a criminal case be registered against all concerned and the Gram Panchayat should be dissolved.”

Editorial Perspective

If the Police had found the Bangladeshi infiltrators in time and taken action against them, the villagers would not have to make such a resolution. Action should be taken against the Police who are responsible for the problem of Bangladeshi infiltrators.
