India should stop making false claims on Jammu and Kashmir in elections : Pakistan’s outcry

Zahra Baloch, Spokesperson, Pak Foreign Ministry

New Delhi – “Pak’s name should not be used to gain political advantage in elections. Indian leaders should stop making false claims about Jammu and Kashmir”, said Zahra Baloch, spokesperson of Pakistan’s foreign ministry. On 26th April, she made the above claims in a press conference and said that Indian leaders should stop using Pakistan’s name in their speeches and opinions. She rejected all claims of Indian leaders about Jammu and Kashmir.

Zahra Baloch further said that Indian leaders’ inflammatory speeches on Jammu and Kashmir have been on the rise for some time now. This is very worrying. Their statements are motivated by nationalism. This may threaten the peace of the region. Indian claims are contrary to historical and legal facts.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

On 11th April, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh mentioned Pakistan in a meeting in Satna District of Madhya Pradesh and said that the way Jammu and Kashmir is developing, I think the people of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir believe that their development will be possible only at the hands of Prime Minister Modi. Pakistan-occupied Kashmir was, is, and will remain our part.

Minister of External Affairs of India, Dr S Jaishankar also said in a press conference that we will never accept the claims that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is not a part of India. All the parties in India have the same stand that it is a part of India.

Editorial Perspectives

  • Taliban has been a trouble to Pakistan, at the same time there is also a fear of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir taken over by India. It is no surprise that Pakistan is making such statements out of frustration.
  • Pakistan must remember that the Indian defense and diplomatic apparatus will soon act on their planned strategy to prove the so-called false claims true.
