Lakhs of beggars flock to Karachi on the occasion of Eid

Karachi (Pakistan) – While Eid is being celebrated across Pakistan, suddenly there is a flood of beggars in its financial capital Karachi. Nearly 4 lakh people from all age groups are in the business of begging. They have flocked in Karachi’s markets, main roads, traffic signals, shopping malls and mosques. Fuel and food prices in Pakistan are continuously increasing. Skyrocketing inflation has created a major financial crisis for Pakistan. At least 19 people were killed in street crimes during the month of Ramzan, while 55 people have lost their lives since January 2024 while resisting looting. According to Geo News, 6,780 criminal incidents took place in Karachi during the month of Ramzan. More than 130 vehicles have been stolen during this period.

1. News International newspaper has quoted Imran Yaqoob Minhas, Additional Inspector General of Karachi, as saying that 300,000 to 400,000 professional beggars head towards the metropolis during the month of Ramzan to cash in on the Eid season. They see Karachi as a major market. These people come to Karachi and commit crimes. They come from interior Sindh, Balochistan, and other parts of the country.

2. Besides this, several Pakistani beggars who went as pilgrims to Saudi Arabia a few months ago were sent back to Pakistan by air.

3. Beggars from Pakistan go to Gulf countries under the pretext of pilgrimage. They visit the holy places of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia and beg there.

4. Zeeshan Khanzada, Secretary for Overseas Pakistanis, said that most of the pickpockets arrested from the Mecca Masjid are Pakistani nationals.

How come such a pathetic state of affairs in Islamic Pakistan, which gives the message of worshipping Allah in the month of Ramzan ? This goes on to show that Islam is in fact in danger in Pakistan and not in India. This is shameful to Pakistan !
